 Potato salad is one of the most all-American things I can think of, after baseball, apple pie and white picket fences, of course! Get ready for the fourth of July with these classic American potato and pasta salad recipes, and apple pie, too. Happy 4th, everyone!

All-American Potato Salads
Use tri-colored potatoes (red, regular and purple - err, blue!) for a patriotic side dish, or, leave the fancy colors to the fireworks experts and just enjoy your vegetarian potato salad. As an extra tip, Baco-s brand "bacon bits" are actually vegetarian (no, really - read the label!) so sprinkle a few on your potato salad for a bit of crunch. Summery pasta salads

For a super quick and easy pasta salad, toss together some Italian salad dressing or a vinaigrette with some cooked pasta and veggies and voila! Pasta salad really is that easy! Adding chopped sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, pinenuts or capers adds a gourmet touch to a plain pasta salad. Here's a few vegetarian pasta salad recipes to try:
