Get Ready - Get Set - Go - It's the Baking Season

And they're off ... It's the beginning of my favorite time of year. Yes, it's time once again for oodles and oodles of baking. With those lovely crisp mornings, I can leave my oven on all day. I'm so excited. If you're excited too, but don't know where to start, I hope this newsletter will give you some ideas.

A Note About Searching My Website:
I'm terribly sorry that it is so difficult to search my website, especially when you know I have a certain recipe you need. The best way to search my website is to add my name "carroll" after the dessert recipe you need. Example: Put my name "carroll" after "rum cake" in the search box: rum cake carroll. The first -5- listings that come up aren't even on About.com. The About.com listings are just below the light gray line. Hopefully, the first few listings after the gray line are actually on my website. The way you can tell they are on my site is by looking at the bottom of each listing. There is a specific web address that should begin like this: http://baking.about.com/.... Those are the recipes on my site. If you can't find a specific recipe, please don't hesitate to email me. My email address is: Carroll@dcpelle.com. I should be able to answer your email within a couple of days. Thanks for subscribing to my newsletter and making my recipes.

How's Your Baking Equipment?

I can always make room for new baking "toys" as I call them. These days you don't have to buy everything brand new. Use this list at the local thrift store or at a yard sale. I love Ebay, too. Most of the items on this list can also be found on Amazon.

Tips and Hints for Making Desserts Ahead of Time

If you normally have people coming and going through out the baking season, it's a really good idea to already have desserts on hand. Several of my recipes freeze beautifully. They defrost beautifully as well. Think about it. Not sure of which desserts can be frozen? Check-out your local grocery store. Anything they freeze, you can freeze too.
