I'm betting that you haven't tried all three of these foods yet! If you have, well, there's no prize, but if you've already tried these three new foods, have you already tried the vegetarian hundred? (Answer: No you have not, since one of them does not exist yet)

Teff

What it is: A small-sized whole grain food
Why you should try it: It's a cheaper alternative to quinoa and it's rich in calcium - perfect for vegetarians and vegans
Why you haven't tried it yet: That's a good question - you should! Teff has long been available at health food stores and has only recently started to gain popularity, following in the tailwinds of quinoa.

Quinoa flakes

What it is: A rolled version of quinoa, similar to rolled oats.
Why you should try it: High in protein, quick cooking, what's not to love?
Why you haven't tried it yet: Quinoa flakes aren't quite readily available yet. You may have to find them at a health food store instead of your regular supermarket. They'll probably only continue to grow in popularity though, so check back again.

Hemp seeds

What it is: Hemp seeds!

Why you should try it: Rich in protein, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, hemp seeds are one of the best superfoods for vegetarians and vegans

Why you haven't tried it yet: Hemp seeds are definitely not found in most supermarkets, and are not yet grown in the United States in large quantities.
