Vegetarian Holidays

Some people (people who aren't vegetarian!) assume that just because one eschews meat, one also eschews fat, oil, sugar, and, well, flavor! But being vegetarian doesn't have to mean being a health nut .Yes, vegetarians are healthier (in general) and yes, vegetarian food is healthier (in general), but it doesn't have to be! Here's some greasy fried pub-style snacks for Super Bowl Sunday, along with some lighter fare. Pick and choose, mix and match!

Don't forget you can always stop by the vegetarian discussion forums to chat or ask questions, and, if you just want to browse ALL of the vegetarian recipes, they're here.

Pub favorites for vegetarians
Munching on greasy snacks and drinking loads of beer is part of the ritual of gathering in front of the TV to watch the big game on Super Bowl Sunday. Lighter Super Bowl snacks for vegans
Vegetarian Superbowl snacks should be quick and easy to prepare so that you can spend time enjoying the game, popping back beers, or screaming at the TV, depending on who's winning. And, with all those multi-million dollar commercials, who wants to pop back into the kitchen during a commercial break? Not me, that's for sure!

If you'd rather eat on the light side and pass up the wings (even the vegetarian wings and meatless mini-"meat"balls), here's a few lighter snacks that are still absolutely munch-able and a breeze to prep in advance:

If you're just looking for ideas to pop out of a bag and serve and can't be bothered to even dig out the old crockpot and find a plug, here's dozens of vegan snack ideas, mostly healthy, some not, and, if you're still looking for ideas, as Lavar Burton used to say, don't take my word for it. Here's 54 user-submitted vegan snack ideas.
